National Service Financial (NSF) was founded by Wayne Bemet, a veteran with 19 years of service across the Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force, including five operational deployments.
After being medically discharged in 2017 due to service-related injuries, Wayne faced the challenge of transitioning from a long military career into civilian life. Like many veterans, this meant not only adjusting to a new way of life, but also reinventing himself professionally and developing the knowledge and skills required for the next chapter.
Having experienced the transition process firsthand, Wayne understands many of the unique challenges ADF members and their families can face when leaving Defence. His own transition was strengthened by being proactive, undertaking extensive research and surrounding himself with experienced people who could provide the right guidance.
That experience became the foundation for National Service Financial.
Wayne established NSF to help current and former ADF members navigate their own transition and build greater confidence around the financial decisions that follow. He recognised the value of veterans being able to work with professionals who understand Defence life, its culture and the circumstances that can accompany transition.
Today, that shared Defence connection remains central to NSF’s approach — combining professional financial guidance with an understanding of the people and community it serves.
